Google loses again. Closes Google Video

Hi!

I have been predicting to anyone who would listen that Google refused to make their Google Video site successful. Google has consistently declined to adopt a real, tried and true business model of selling a product to a consumer for a price. Instead, Google has adopted the stance of "let's sell advertising around someone else's hard work and pretend it's free". Of course, they force you watch ads (think YouTube). Why? Because they have NOTHING invested in the product, be it video or a website. Their stock may be high, they may have the best known trademark on the Net and they may have a stock pile of cash, but do not forget this: 10 years ago the same could have been said of IBM, General Motors or even Netscape. Their business models were flawed too. Their days are numbered. Trust me.

Google, Others Contest Copyright Warnings

Google has done it again. They are ignoring copyright laws in favor of their flawed business model of selling ads against copyrighted material. They are turning the content world on its head with only one purpose, to make their business viable. It is about time someone stands up to Google and does not let them make a mockery of content owners and their rights. Comments?

What is our model?

Our business model is really quite simple, like eBay's. We take a percentage of EVERY sale and EVERY re-sale that occurs using our software creating a perpetual revenue stream for the Company that grows geometrically with every new user-forever. The Company model is a transaction business model, all products are for sale and do not include advertising as part of any digital file. Our ability to rack up millions of transactions at light speed, spawning millions of dollars in transaction revenue for The 9thXchange without ever producing a tangible product.

Digital products of any kind, including video, ring tones, software, music, games, cartoons, documents and digital memorabilia can be bought, sold, and traded on the company's retail website, www.9thX.com, or any website licensing the company's platform allowing for legal member to member selling of any digital file across affiliated Websites. The possibilities are truly endless for the entertainment and corporate industry.

Missing Piece Media

The whole key to the 9thX model is exploring the possibilities of limited edition content. What types of limited-edition media will be coveted in the future? I keep thinking of all the content that ends up on the floor of movie and music studios. These studios like to repackage this "extra" material to entice fans to buy, but the fan isn't really able to see how the material fits into the greater whole. What if extra scenes from a movie could be purchased with the ability to attach it to the previously released movie. Fans of the movie "Borat" could purchase limited-edition deleted scences and insert them anywhere within an on-line version of the movie to see the version they want to see.

Another possibility would be for music concerts to be released on-line with the option to buy the imited-edition songs that were played during the encore. It's not enough to just designate material as limited-edition, it should also be seen by the consumer as a unique component that enhances their control and enjoyment of the media they purchase. The future is near where DVDs and CDs will be obsolete and everything will be on hard drives. With that being the case, studios will be able to provide fans with the option of inserting those deleted scenes and songs. This flexibility would make the limited-edition material more desirable because it's more relevant. I believe that if the content were to be relevant and flexible, it would be more in demand. A digital marketplace that seeks to sell content as limited-edition need to think about possibilites such as these.
